Title: Recent advances in Computer Vision-based Human Motion Analysis
Speaker: Dr. Wonwoo Lee at INRIA-Grenoble Rhône-Alpes, France
Place: KAIST GSCT N25 #3229
Time: 2012.12.28. 15:00-16:00

Abstract:
Human motion analysis has been considered as an important problem to make machines understand humans' activities. However, it still remains unsolved problem in computer vision communities due to the complexity and ambiguity of human motion. In this talk, we review recent advances in human motion analysis researches from the viewpoints of methods, motion data, and camera configurations and introduce approaches that exploit manifold learning techniques to investigate an embedded structure of complex human motions.

CV:
Wonwoo Lee received the B.S. degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, in 2003, and the M.S. degree from the Department of Information and Communications, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Gwangju, Korea, in 2004. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Information and Mechatronics of GIST in 2012. Currently, he is a postdoctorial researcher at INRIA-Grenoble, France. His research interests include learning-based human motion analysis, real-time object detection, and general-purpose computation on graphics processing units.
