UVR Lab. was formed in Feb. 2001 at GIST to study and develop “Virtual Reality in Smart computing environments” that process multimodal input, perceive user’s intention and emotion, and respond to user’s request through Augmented Reality. Since 2012, UVR Lab moved to KAIST GSCT and restarted with a theme of “FUN in Ubiquitous VR.”

Deep-learning technology, which is well known as Alpha-Go, grealtly improved performance of computer vision algorithms. Alchera Inc. has developed augmented reality (AR) technology based on deep-learning algorithms, and successfully applied to SNOW and B612, which is the most famous AR camera apps in Asia. This talk focuses on practices and applications of Alchera’s AI based AR technology. I introduce Alchera’s technology portfolio developed using deep-learning and computer graphics algorithms first, then show how easily to create an AR application using Alchera’s Unity plugin. Lastly, real applications using Alchera’s AI based AR technology will be introduced with examples.
